Artists displaying their work at Fine Art at the Magnolia in Lakeland, Florida

The Bohrer Gallery's annual creative projects, including Fine Art at the Magnolia and its scholarship, 4 Squared Makers, the The Florida Arts Journal, and our One Wall Artist Exhibit and Grant program, would all not be possible without the generous support of those who share our vision of preserving the vitality of the working artists in our communities. Please consider joining our growing circle of patrons by becoming one of our essential annual contributors for 2026. Thank you for supporting the Fine Arts!

Your Patronage Supports Artists

  • "I want the viewer to feel as if he or she could step into my paintings. I want them to feel the essence of the animal, be carried away to a beautiful island in a changing world. To see the creatures that live there as whole and complete... belonging there."

    Artist Stephen Koury

  • "I am a weird and whimsical fabrication artist. I have a background in both special effects and traditional fine arts, and I apply all of this experience to my collection of interesting and unconventional materials. I intend to create something new, so my subjects and my process constantly evolve. I am excited to see how my artwork grows."

    Artist Allyson Bode (SoulSpeak Studios)

  • "Happiness is a precious thing, it comes and goes so easily. In my oil paintings, I hope to capture those in-between moments and make them shine. Each is a familiar and nostalgic story too brief for words, evoked only through introspection and care."

    Artist Margaret Baker

  • "By focusing on whimsical color relationships and a variety of patterning, my artwork celebrates the diverse and transient qualities of life. After all, in life the only constant is change and while that may be a bit frightening it is also beautiful, exciting and worthy of celebration."

    Artist Beth Garcia

  • "My paintings walk through the surrealist-abstract world, dealing with hidden dreams and emotions. I want my painting to be like a poem, where you discover every hidden emotion."

    Artist JANO

  • "My son, Jon, and I are fascinated by the fluidity of glass. Each work is the product of a three-day 'Dance of Fire' in which silver is melted into liquid glass and a sculpture is formed, layer upon layer, over a furnace roaring at 2400° Fahrenheit. Why do we do it? We love Florida's oceans and waterways, and to sculpt glass is to sculpt the ocean. Jon and I have been creating glass together since 2001."

Artists Bill and Jon Slade (Slade Glass)

  • "I love tripping through my paintings. I start with an idea, which I then develop by applying oil paint to birch panels. I feel out the movement or statement of the work by developing light and shadow around the mangrove trees. I try to bring the viewer on a journey through these magnificent mangroves."

    Artist Bruce Ferguson
