Who We Are

Founded in 2017 by local artist Betsy Bohrer, The Bohrer Gallery is a creative arts business dedicated to supporting working artists through and exhibitions, financial assistance, publication opportunities, and more. Our mission is to provide meaningful opportunities for artists of all levels and to preserve the vitality of the Fine Arts in our region. To achieve this, we produce several annual creative projects:

  • Fine Art at the Magnolia (FAM): Our signature annual event held every August at the historic Magnolia Building in downtown Lakeland. This prestigious exhibit showcases highly accomplished artists and craftsmen from across the state.

  • Rising Star Scholarship: Awarded annually during the FAM event to support college-bound art students in their creative journeys.

  • 4 Squared Makers: A series of themed small-works shows designed to encourage participation from artists of all skill levels.

  • "One Wall" Exhibits & Grants: A dedicated program providing artists with exhibition space and a hardship grant program to support them through challenging times.

  • Florida Arts Journal: An online publication and newsletter featuring interviews and profiles of artists throughout Florida.

Join Our Mission: Support the Arts

The continued success of our artists and programs is made possible solely through the collective generosity of our community. Without the support of our Patrons, our continued efforts to provide working local artists with exhibition opportunities, financial assistance, greater visibility through publication, annual scholarships, grants, and more would not be possible. Your contribution directly impacts the lives of working artists by providing the essential financial and community-driven foundation that makes our core initiatives possible. Our ongoing and future efforts depend on the continued commitment of our Patrons.

To learn how to become a supporting Patron, and how you can help us preserve and promote the Fine Arts in Lakeland and beyond, please review our various support levels in the “Become A Patron” page, or click the link below.
